Chanie grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, where she was raised on traditional Jewish foods like gefilte fish, stuffed cabbage and matzah ball soup. When she got married and started entertaining, she began to put her own spin on old-time favorites to give them a modern, gourmet vibe. Today, Chanie lives just a few blockes from her childhood home where she continues to revisit family favorites and reinvent traditional holiday dishes.
